(Cancon) sometimes referred to as the MAPL System.

L - lyrics written by a Canadian
The MAPL logo became the standard for identifying Cancon.
,Klees says he chose this design because it could be reduced to any size and could be used easily on record labels and CD graphics to identify songs that qualified.
